Holy martyrs of Mother Emanuel, pray for us!

I was born and raised on South Carolina in the ‘90s and ‘00s. I remember the debates over that flag flying over the state house. It flew on cars in my high school parking lot and decorated more than a few shirts.

I hate that flag.

I have seen no good done under its banner. Only evil.
⠀
I struggled to even draw it, but I wanted it there, tarnished, torn, discarded, and, most importantly, defeated and overshadowed by the church and her saints and martyrs. May those nine who have received their crowns in heaven pray for us.
